Registration Price: Like everything else, our costs to run the program and replenish equipment have increased drastically this past year. However, thanks to everyone’s continued support in the snack bar this past year, we are happy to be able to offer our Spring Season registration at prices that remain unchanged from the previous year. Your registration fee includes a personalized jersey, hat, end of season awards*.
*End of season awards are provided to ALL Tee Ball, Rookie, Single A Awards are provided to end of season playoff tournament winners for upper division AA+ teams.
Any outstanding balances from the previous season must be paid in full before any player in your family will be placed on a team or be eligible for the draft. If you have any questions about balances on your account, please email [email protected].
Refund Policy: Requests to cancel registration will be issued refunds as follows:
A $10 administrative fee will be withheld from each canceled registration to cover the processing fees incurred by the league for each transaction. Canceled registrations due to failure or inability to complete Document Check by the deadline will be subject to the above timeline as well.
Divisions & League Age: Check your player's league age here: 2025 Spring League Age Chart and review our FAQ's to help determine which division is the best fit for your player. All players league age 8+ must register for the "Drafted Divisions."
Please note that players who are league age 9+ must attend player evaluations and are drafted to age-eligible divisions. League age 8 players are encouraged to attend player evaluations and enter the AA draft. Please note that a limited number of league age 8 players will be drafted to play on a AA team. Those who are not drafted to a AA team will be placed on a Single A team. Those league age 8 players who do not want to attend evaluations and would like to be placed on a Single A team may email [email protected] after completing registration to submit their request. ALL players will make a team - there are no "cuts" in Little League.
Team Assignment: Coach/friend requests are considered for Challenger, Tee Ball, Rookie and Single A divisions, but not guaranteed. If you have a request, please make sure to note it during registration in the field provided. Coach/friend requests cannot be considered for the AA and above divisions, as team assignments are determined via the draft process. Team assignments will be announced mid/late January.
Document Check-
- Age Verification: All new players will be required to upload a legible copy of their birth certificate during the online registration process for birth date verification.
- Boundary Verification: Beginning Spring 2025, League Age 7 and under players may play in ANY Little League, regardless of where they live/attend school. League age 8 and above players must live OR attend school within our boundaries in order to play with Laguna Hills LL. The system will automatically check for proper boundary compliance based on the address entered/school selected.
o Residency verification: See the list of documents required for proof of residency HERE. All documents must have at least one parent/guardian’s name, be dated between February 1, 2024, and February 1, 2025, and the address on all 3 documents must be the same and within the Laguna Hills LL boundaries. We must be able to see the full document page showing the type of document, name, address and date of document.
o School enrollment: Required only for those players who live outside of our league’s boundaries or are otherwise unable to provide the required residency documents, the Little League School Enrollment Form may be completed through your school. The form must be printed out, completed, and signed by a school administrator. The player must have been enrolled in the school prior to October 1, 2024.
Save time and submit your documents electronically!! You may upload your 3 residency verification documents or school enrollment form, Birth certificate and LHLL Registration Packet during online registration. If you choose to skip this step while registering your player(s), you can still log back in later and submit the documents.
Age and Boundary verifications must be completed before your player will be placed on a team or allowed to participate in evaluations. If a league age 9+ player fails to complete Document Check prior to player evaluations, they will not be eligible to enter the draft and will be unable to play this season.
- Safety Awareness: All parents and players must review the following forms and acknowledge receipt and understanding during online registration (required by CA law).
- All forms, waivers and releases can be found in the LHLL Registration Packet. Complete and print out or log back in and upload to the Full waivers and releases question in registration. Here are a few to look out for:
o Concussion Awareness Form
o Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Form
o Opioid Fact Sheet
- Medical Release: The Medical Release Form must still be printed/completed/signed by a parent and given to the Manager at the first team meeting/practice to be carried with them to all league events.
Uniforms and equipment required for each player: Each player will need to provide their own baseball pants, cleats, protective cup (for boys) and gear (a glove, batting helmet, and USA Baseball standard bat). We recommend holding off on purchasing apparel items until your team has been assigned and your coach selects the color for the team.
Schedule: Practice and game schedules are subject to field allocations received from the city of Laguna Hills. Practice days/times are selected by the Manager/Head Coach shortly before the season begins, and therefore we cannot accept requests to place players on teams with a specific practice day/time.
- Lower Divisions: Teams will meet 2x/week (weekday + Saturday), consisting of practices only for Preseason beginning mid/late February. Once games begin in March, Saturdays will consist of games, and practices will continue on weekdays. Some divisions/teams may have weekday games towards the end of the season. Younger divisions (Tee Ball/Rookie) typically have earlier weekday practice times (e.g. 4:30pm). Saturday game times will vary each week, as early as 9:00am but ending no later than 5:30pm.
- Upper Divisions: Teams will meet 3-4x/week (weekdays + Sat), consisting of practices only for Preseason beginning early February. Once games begin in March, teams will typically have 1 weeknight game and 1 Saturday game, plus weekday practice and a batting cage day at the discretion of the Manager.
Please review our FAQ for additional general information about practice/game schedules for the season.
Volunteers: Laguna Hills LL is a 100% volunteer-run organization, and we ask each family to fulfill a volunteer role for each player in the program. Volunteer roles needed on each team are as follows. All LHLL volunteers must complete a background check on an annual basis, which runs 10/1-9/30. Please follow the links for additional requirements for each volunteer role.
- Manager/Head Coach – Being a Manager requires time, patience, and a basic knowledge of the game. You should be able to attend the majority of games and practices (as the Manager, you will be able to select your own practice slot). The Manager will plan and run practices/drills will also be responsible for creating gameday lineups.
- Team Parent - Primary responsibilities will include assisting the Manager with administrative matters such as managing the team schedule/calendar, planning social events, picking up/distributing uniforms, helping to remind players/families to comply with safety protocols, communicating league/team matters to parents, etc.
- Assistant Coaches – The Assistant Coach will assist the Manager with running practices/drills and helping to coach and organize the players on game day.
- Umpire – Umpires are required in the competitive divisions (AA and above) and most games have one field umpire and one plate umpire. A good understanding of Little League rules will be required. All necessary training (mechanics and rules) will be provided by LHLL and/or District 55.
- Scorekeeper/Pitch Counter – Home team provides the official Scorekeeper for the game; Visitor team provides the Pitch Counter who will also operate the Scoreboard. A basic knowledge of the game is required for scorekeeping, but instruction on how to keep score, pitch count, and operate the scoreboard will be provided by LHLL.
- Snack Shake – LHLL will be running the Snack Shake for baseball tournaments hosted by the city of Laguna Hills and will need volunteers to help. Additional one-off LHLL events may require volunteers as well. Each player will be expected to provide volunteer(s) to fulfill at least one shift, with the exception of Managers, Homeplate Umpires who umpire 1 or more games, and Board members.
**Due to the increasing number of no-shows for assigned snack bar duty, LHLL has implemented a snack bar deposit policy. Your snack bar deposit check(s) will be collected (but not cashed) at one of our age/residency verification days. To avoid having the check cashed, parents can fulfill their volunteer commitment by either:
- Managing a team ( an assistant coach is not a manager)
- Umpiring a game as the home plate umpire for divisions AA, AAA and Majors
- Serving as a board member
- Volunteering for a shift at the snack shack
Your checks will be destroyed after your assigned snack bar volunteer assignment is completed. If you do not fulfill your snack bar duty, your check will then be cashed. Placement of your player on a team is not final until your snack bar deposit check(s) is received. One check per family. Check(s) need to be made out to LHLL and please include in the note area: snack bar deposit for XXX (player names and division). Your deposit check will be collected at our in person age/residency verification day…you will not be able to take care of this via our online registration.
Additional volunteers may be needed by the team (e.g. bringing post-game snacks, field prep/cleanup, etc.) - these are in addition to the above volunteer roles needed by the league and should be shared responsibilities across the entire team.
